Biography

A pure product of 1970s blues rock and hard rock, Mat Ninat is a British-French guitarist/singer/composer who grew up in Kate Bush's family and it was with one of his guitarists, Brian Bath, that he received his first guitar lessons.

He forged a solid rock culture by devouring his father's albums: Chuck Berry, Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, James Brown… Little by little, he discovered Aerosmith, Guns N'Roses, Extreme, Maceo Parker, Boost Collins, Mahavishnu Orchestra or even Jeff Beck, then founded a first group, Grinnin' Moon, with which he gave concerts: a journey that would lead him to continue solo, writing his own songs, always in a hard vein, but with funky vibes and groove.

He released an eponymous debut album in 2018 in which Norbert Krief and Patrick Rondat, among others, participated, and a second opus is in the pipeline for 2024. Mat also serves music behind his cameras as a director and photographer, with his audiovisual production company Mat Ninat Studio.
