Formed in 1989 and ever since renowned for their unique style of relentless Thrash/Death Metal, sometimes even bordering on Punk or even Grindcore, MORTUARY is a staple of the European Extreme Metal scene, with members such as Gaël FERET (NO RETURN, MISANTHROPE...) and Dirk VERBEUREN (MEGADETH, SOILWORK...).

 

Over the years, MORTUARY has released no less than 6 albums and toured relentlessly in Europe and beyond (Cuba, etc.) with bands such as CORONER, OBITUARY, HYPOCRISY, BENIGHTED, PESTILENCE, DECAPITATED, VADER, ENTOMBED and many others. The band also had the privilege of playing Hellfest in 2017. 2019 saw the band celebrate its 30th anniversary, but also release its long-awaited 6th album, "The Autophagous Reign" via XENOKORP Records.

 

Produced at HERTZ studio (BEHEMOTH, VADER, NEPHREN-KA ...) and with cover art by renowned artist Lukasz JASZAK (DECAPITATED, BLOOD RED THRONE...), this is without a shadow of a doubt the band's most impressive release to date, in terms of concept, inspiration, violence and, of course, production.

 

Echoing near-unanimous reviews of the quality of this latest opus, in January 2020 MORTUARY embarked on "The Autophagous tour", a major tour across France.

 

The album also attracted numerous festival-goers, including Muscadeath, Chaulnes Metal Fest, Outch Extreme Festival, Metal On The Beach, Mosh Pit Festival...etc....
