Biography

With over five hundred concerts to his credit, Olivier Pelmoine has carved out his own personal path, nourished by a wealth of experience.

Passionate about the guitar since childhood, he plays blues-rock in his native Hautes-Alpes. His thirst for learning led him to discover classical music, which he studied in depth at the Dijon Conservatory, before devoting his post-graduate studies to the Ecole Normale and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris, where he obtained the highest distinctions.

His meeting with violinist Sara Chenal, with whom he founds the duo "Cordes et Âmes", is decisive for both performers: they create their own repertoire combining timeless works, transcriptions and creations, win together the Mauro Giuliani International Competition in Bari, Italy, and record 3 albums on the Skarbo label to international critical acclaim: "San Telmo" (2009, North and South American music), "Chansons populaires espagnoles" (2012), "Taïgo" (2007, contemporary works) and "Piazzolla" (2022).

The dedicatee of numerous works, the fruit of his encounters and exchanges with many of today's composers, Olivier Pelmoine also records "Opus Guitar" (2014), "Echo" (2018) and "La guitare de Maurice Ohana" (2022) as a soloist.
