Biography

Margot Aillaud holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in guitar interpretation from the National Conservatory of Music and Dance of Paris. She perfect her skills with great names in guitar such as Roland Dyens, Judicael Perroy, Leo Brouwer, Roberto Aussel, Duo Mélis. She was also admitted to the Chamber Music Master's program in the class of the pianist Claire Désert and the violinist Ami Flammer. In addition to her artistic studies, she obtained the bachelor and master in pedagogy, two diplomas that allowed her to develop her own teaching personality. She teaches at the Conservatory of Toulon Provence Méditerranée.

She is a laureate of various international competitions (FNAPEC, Léopold Bellan, Cap Ferret, Ligita...) as a soloist and in the chamber music category.

At the same time, Margot Aillaud take various artistic opportunities: she has performed contemporary repertoire on electric guitar in the Parisian theater Le Lucernaire, worked in collaboration with the dancer and acrobat Chloé Moglia, performed with The orchestra of the laureates of the National Conservatory of Music and Dance of Paris in creations for electric guitar and orchestra. She also initiated herself in the language of Soundpainting with its creator, the American Walter Thompson.

With the guitarist Florent Aillaud, she founded the Duo MFA with which she regularly performs and recorded a double album entitled The Well- Tempered Guitars (Books I and II) released in 2020 and 2022. The duo revisits works originally written for piano, harpsichord or orchestra through the prism of the guitar: Jean-Philippe Rameau, J.S. Bach, César Frank, Clara Schumann, Enrique Granados, Astor Piazzolla, Philip Glass, György Ligeti, Bela Bartok, Carlos Gardel. They are published by L'Empreinte Mélodique.

Margot Aillaud plays a guitar built by the French master luthier François Monnier.
