Biography
Xavier Dupas develops a wide range of projects as a bassist, singer, composer, and arranger, highlighting his passion for styles ranging from Groove to Metal, including film music. He began learning the cello at an early age, but in 2006 he discovered the bass guitar and pursued his studies at the CRR in Versailles. In 2009, he joined the symphonic metal band Whyzdom (performing in France and across Europe with Delain, Epica, and Tarja Turunen, among others).
A graduate of the MAI, he joined the Sinfonia Pop Orchestra in 2013 (performing music from Disney, Pixar, Dragon Ball, TV series, and video games) and earned a certificate in Music Technology from the CRR in Caen. He also works as a bassist and composer for the progressive metal band Northshore Division.
Starting in 2021, his collaborations with the Sinfonia Pop Orchestra intensified, including Disney and Dragon Ball tours (with official French Disney voices or Hiroki Takahashi) and film concerts such as Titanic or Gladiator (with the presence of Lisa Gerrard). He also performs with orchestras like the Montpellier Opera and the Strasbourg Philharmonic. In parallel, he joined the rock band Kaon.
After obtaining the IOMA certification in 2023 at IMFP, he participated in symphonic projects (Daft Punk Electro Symphonic, tribute to Ennio Morricone, rugby world cup concert matches) and the Disney 100th anniversary tour alongside Debbie Davis, Patrick Fiori, Kendji Girac, and Michaël Gregorio. He is also an arranger for the band Ghostified and continues to expand his work as a sideman in various projects.
Xavier currently plays Sandberg basses, which allow him to fully express his diverse skills in the service of groove.
