Biography
Erwin Bertschi is a Swiss musician born on June 18, 1989, mainly known as a bassist in several metal bands. He began his musical career in 2010 and quickly established himself as a versatile and passionate musician, inspired by bands such as Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, Lamb of God, Mastodon, Sylosis, and Faith No More.
Since 2010, he has been a member of the metalcore band Voice Of Ruin, with whom he has contributed to several productions, notably the album Purge and Purify (2017), which helped the band stand out.
His bass playing, combining picking, finger picking, and slap techniques, allows him to bring great dynamics to his compositions. He plays on various bass models, including Modulus Graphite, Sire Marcus Miller, and Spector LX Euro.
In 2025, Erwin left Voice Of Ruin and joined the legendary band Nostromo, further consolidating his place in the Swiss metal scene. He has also multiplied collaborations, playing with groups such as JC Jess (heavy rock) and Suisse Chérie (traditional Swiss yodel music), a project that benefited from radio airplay and an appearance on Kiosque à Musiques on RTS. He also recorded on the first instrumental album by Grenoble guitarist Bruno Saget, From Sunrise To Sunset (2024).
His career has led him to perform on prestigious stages, notably at MetalDays (twice with Voice Of Ruin), Gränichen Open Air, and Sylak Open Air. He has also taken part in international tours across Europe, Nepal, India, Japan, and Russia.
In addition to his stage career, Erwin shares his passion by giving electric bass and guitar lessons, thus contributing to the training of new musicians.
