Jean Marie RAYMOND was born in 1949. Guitarist, conductor, composer and teacher, He studied at the prestigious "Ecole Normale de Paris" with Alberto Ponce and Javier Hinojosa. He studied composition with Yvonne Desportes and conducting with Désiré Dondeyne.

The CNR of Aubervilliers-la-Courneuve awarded him the Gold Medal for Classical Guitar; in the field of teaching, he obtained the State Diploma and then the Certificate of Aptitude. His career led him to devote himself to teaching (Direction of the Conservatory of Viry-Chatillon), to concert activities, to writing, and to conducting.

In 1977 he played as a soloist with the Orchestre de Paris under the direction of Seiji Osawa, and in 1979 he went on tour in the U.S.A. where he performed for the NBC channel. A recording with his friend Minoru Inagaki, "Guitare à quatre mains", will be produced by B.N.L. This one will be very noticed by the public.

He founded and directed the Ensemble Instrumental de le Vallée de Chevreuse (concerts in France, tour in Quebec). He currently performs as a soloist (notably in the United States), and with the Trio Sortilèges. (http://jm.raymond.free.fr/) (flute, guitar and cello).
