Biography

Volker Höh is one of the most versatile German guitarists. He is familiar with many international concert and festival stages, not only as an ambassador for the Goethe Institut but also as a soloist, with orchestras and as a member of chamber music ensembles. His critically acclaimed CD productions usually focus on a theme and show a wide variety of styles and a specific sound defined by historically informed performances on period instruments. Recordings by radio and tv stations document his status and artistic achievement as well as countless works by renowned artists which were dedicated to him.

He works as a professor, jury member, publisher of guitar repertoire and author. He teaches guitar music at Landesmusikgymnasium Rheinland-Pfalz (state music school of Rhineland Palatinate) in Montabaur, Germany. He founded the guitar ensemble cantomano (Song of the Hands) which has been awarded international prizes as well as having been the winner several times of the German Orchestra Competition.

He was rewarded the 'GlückSpirale' prize for special merit by the Musikrat (music council) of Rhineland Palatinate, Germany.
